Hi, everyone! Sorry for just posting now...tsk, tsk, quite busy with our holidays and food trippings. Anyway, here is another simple and delicious dish which was originally concocted by my sister, Khristine, and I really find it so yummy ( so do everyone who ever tried it ) I'm pretty sure it deserves a place here in my food blog for you to try. So, do try it out- its a winner!
INGREDIENTS:
MARINADE:
Rump Steak or Sirloin beef 1kg. sliced into strips
1/2 cup of Worcestershire
black pepper
salt
garlic powder 1 tsp. or more
minced garlic
VEGES:
young corn, halved lengthwise
button mushrooms, halved
1 big green capsicum ( bellpepper ) cut into chunky squares
Butter and olive oil.
HOW TO:
1. Marinate beef strips for an hour or more ( the longer, the better ), turning them over every now and again, for the flavor to really bite in.
2. Prepare a skillet and over high heat, melt about 1/4 cup butter or margarine with a drizzle of olive oil ( this prevents burning of butter ).
3. Stir-fry beef , allow it to simmer in its juice or drippings, and turn the heat to low, let simmer til' tender. Add about 1-2 cups of water halfway to prevent drying up.
4. Adjust the seasonings if it gets a bit bland.
5. Once it is tender, remove the broth to be used later.
6. In the same skillet, add another 1/2 cup of butter and 1/4 cup of olive oil for stir-frying, THEN add the veges, add the bellpepper last to retain crispiness.
7. With 1/2 cup tap water or broth, mix in about 2 tbsp. cornstarch.
8. Pour in the broth which was saved earlier, then add the cornstarch mixture- DO THIS SLOWLY, for desired thickness of sauce.
Simple, filling, impressive and really, really delicious!
Bon Appetit' !
