This brownie recipe is such a hit with family and friends that I decided to share it with you. Scrumptious, moist and nutty with just the right sweetness to it, hmmm...thats how I like my brownies so- thats how I make them! Ready?
Half bar of butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup of roasted walnut pieces
3 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup cocoa
1/2 cup dark baking chocolate ( 8 squares )
1/2 tsp. baking powder
How To :
Line rectangular pan with baking paper ( or foil if you dont have one in your kitchen ) preheat oven to 180 deg.
Over medium heat in a saucepan, melt butter. Add sugar, crack in eggs one at a time, blend well. Add in the baking chocolate, whisk til melted then sift in the baking powder, cocoa and flour alternately. Add the walnuts last.
Bake for about 30 minutes or until done.
Tips :
Check doneness with a toothpick, but I usually underbake it a little when I like it a bit more fudgy. Cool a little and cut into squares, carefully lift it off the paper one square at a time because they tend to break, then cool them completely.
You may if you want to- substitute any nut you prefer, like pecans or almonds, and you may cover the top with chocolate icing or simply sift over with confectioners sugar.
What I usually do is melt 5 squares of baking chocolate and spoon them into a small sandwich plastic bag, make a small cut at the tip and just make criss-cross patterns on top of each, let it set...looks very gourmet and professional.
ENJOY!!!!
